Weekend Recap Part 1: Father/Son Retreat!

Hey everybody, just a quick update on last weekend:

We had Winwood Presbyterian Church from Houston come up for a Father/Son Retreat.  I was only able to be involved on Friday evening and Saturday morning, due to the work being done on our home (see the next post), but boy was it a blast!  This was my first time running the top of the ropes tower.  I have quite a lot of experience with the hardwear from teaching folks how to rock climb, but there were a few new things to learn, and I was glad to have Alex, our intern, as well as another high ropes certified volunteer. A goal for this Winter is for me to become certified as a High Ropes trainer, which I am looking forward to.

From the vantage point of our 40' combination climbing wall / commando bridge / double-zip-line tower, I was able to capture a few awesome images of young men (and dads) challenging themselves to overcome their fears.  Check out some of the photos below from the fishing tournament and high-ropes course!

Brief plug: Camp Wilderness Ridge offers a whole range of options for whatever kind of retreat your church, small group, or organization might want to organize.  If you're interested in planning something, please contact me at bryan@wildernessridge.com.  I would love to tailor a Fall, Winter, or Spring retreat to your specific goals and needs!
