Progress is a process.

Well, we've now been in temporary housing (in the cottage across from where our home is being renovated) for a month now. I can't say that it's been great, but I can say that God is teaching me to be patient and to trust Him. We planned to move in by last week, but one big project after another has proven that we have to wait just a little bit longer.

However, we have made TONS of progress! Thanks to our friends Andres, Dustin, Kevin & Brittany, Pairsh, and my parents, Don & Carol, as well as all the CWR staff and other volunteers, we've been able to knock some of those big projects off of our list!

In the past week or so, we've expanded the bathroom to fit the bathtub/shower and completed that plumbing; installed and plumbed the bathroom vanity and the kitchen sink; put all the doors back on the cabinets after finished staining; painted the hallways, window sills, kitchen area, trim, and doors throughout the house; and prepared the study to be painted.

At this point, we need to have carpet installed in the bedroom, shelving and hanging racks installed in our closet, door handles put on the fridge, the pantry thoroughly cleaned (lots of mouse droppings), siding for the cabinets cut, stained, and attached, bathroom lighting to be completed, painting in the bathroom, painting the living room, painting the study, and painting all the floors!

So although we have accomplished a lot so far, we still have quite a bit to do. Which means we need YOUR help! If you are able and willing to come out to the beautiful Lost Pines and spend some time helping not only us but also the ministry of Camp Wilderness Ridge, we would greatly appreciate it! You're welcome to come stay for the weekend, just spend a day, or even just a few hours. Every little bit helps, and we desperately want our home to get finished so we can move in. We also really enjoy getting to see familiar faces of our friends and family that we don't get to see very often anymore!

We would like to ask all of our friends and family to start thinking and praying about how God would have you support us. We encourage EVERYONE to support us through prayer, but we also need volunteered time and financial support for our ministry here. So, if you're reading this, I challenge you to take a moment to talk to God and ask Him first of all to continue blessing us and this ministry by providing safety, health, and direction through this transition, and then pray for Him to show you how you can be a part of our support team.

We will be sending out an email version of our newsletter ASAP, so if we don't have your email address and you'd like to receive our updates, please send us a message at or!
