Last weekend we dropped in for a surprise visit to my family in New Orleans. By dropped in, I mean it was a whirlwind tour from Austin to NOLA and back in 2 1/2 days.
There are more photos in the NOLA 2013 Grads gallery.Click here to see them!
First stop was breakfast with Claire's Granny Pat in Baton Rouge.
Then on to surprise mom & Mike at their house in River Ridge.
My sister Bailey graduated the week before from Loyola University with a B.A. in Spanish. She'll be spending the Summer in Mexico, serving Jesus in a remote area near Oaxaca, Mexico. Afterward, she'll be taking classes toward a B.S.N. (Nursing) at Delgado Community College and LSU.
On Friday, my brother Michael graduated from John Curtis Christian High School. He's moving to Rustin, LA to study Engineering at Louisiana Tech University (alma mater of his dad, Mike Miller)
Michael's friend Grant also just graduated High School, so Mom and a few of her friends put together a great grad party for all three.
Before we left NOLA, we were able to see my brother play guitar as he helped lead worship for the "Senior Recognition Sunday" at First Baptist Church Kenner, LA. It was fun to hear him rock a little on a couple of the songs. He become really good in the last few years, since I can remember teaching him his first two chords!
